Reading selections and questions for Sunday, March 14, 2010

1) Exodus 4:29-5:5
How did the Israelites react to God’s message? What was Pharaoh’s reaction to God’s message? What was Pharaoh’s biggest concern?

2) Exodus 5:6-21
What were the immediate consequences when Moses and Aaron gave Pharaoh God’s message? What was the purpose of the extra work they were given (verse 9)?
How did the foremen react to the news? How do you react to frustrations in your work?

3) Exodus 5:22-6:9
What was Moses’ question to God? What was he accusing God of? What was God’s plan for Israel? What words did God use to emphasize His desire for relationship with them? How many of those words apply to God’s relationship with you?

4) Exodus 6:28-7:6
What was Moses’ excuse for delaying in obedience? What excuses do you make for delaying obedience to God? In what sense would Moses be like God to Pharaoh? What was God’s ultimate purpose behind all these events?
